Start the new year with an inspiring family outing at the Leaders Are Readers event, a celebration of the joy and empowerment that books bring to young minds! Planting People Growing Justice will host this free community gathering at the Rondo Community Library on Saturday, January 6, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This year, the founder and award-winning author, Dr. Artika Tyner, and special guest Rev. Carl Walker will share stories that spark imagination and highlight the beauty of diversity. Dr. Tyner will present her children’s book, Amazing Africa: A to Z, in a special read-aloud session designed to captivate young readers and celebrate African heritage. After the reading, attendees will have the chance to meet Dr. Tyner, take pictures, and have their books signed, making it a memorable experience for the entire family.
In addition to the engaging storytelling, attendees can look forward to exciting book giveaways, ensuring that children leave with new stories to cherish at home.
