Founder Story
Blackbird Revolt is led by creative director Terresa Hardaway, PhD who uses design to support movements and communities in Minneapolis. Terresa is a designer, educator, and organizer who collaborates with partners to tell honest stories, challenge harmful systems, and imagine new futures. She is known for centering Black and Brown voices, guiding teams with care, and building creative spaces where people in Minneapolis feel seen and supported.
Our Story
Blackbird Revolt grew out of a desire to respond to the lack of representation and exclusion many creatives saw in Minneapolis. The studio was created as a home for conscious creatives who wanted their work to serve community needs and real movement work in Minneapolis. Over time, Blackbird Revolt has grown into a trusted creative partner for campaigns, exhibitions, workshops, and video storytelling. Through each project, the team continues to build relationships, share resources, and imagine what a more liberated Minneapolis can look like.
