ConnectUP! Institute is a community centered organization in Saint Paul that supports entrepreneurs who have been historically underestimated in the business ecosystem. Through education, consulting, and culturally informed programming, ConnectUP! helps founders gain the tools they need to grow. By bringing entrepreneurs, investors and community partners together, ConnectUP! works to create a more inclusive economy in Saint Paul and across the greater Minneapolis community. The organization offers accelerators, integrated capital support, coaching sessions and events that strengthen the entrepreneurial landscape throughout the Twin Cities.

FOUNDER STORY
ConnectUP! Institute was founded by Y. Elaine Rasmussen, a nationally recognized leader in social finance and inclusive economic development. Elaine is a founder who has spent her career bridging communities, sectors and systems to help business owners succeed. Her background in communications, finance and mediation allowed her to see how deeply the region needed an approach to capital that honored the experiences of Black and Brown women and the entrepreneurs who are often left out of traditional investment conversations. Elaine has guided organizations and investors across the country and has been honored for her leadership in moving capital toward communities that have long been under resourced. Her vision continues to shape the way the Twin Cities supports emerging business owners.

OUR STORY
ConnectUP! began in Saint Paul with the idea that the Twin Cities could create an ecosystem where every entrepreneur feels supported, informed and connected. What started as a small effort to bring equitable capital practices to the region has grown into a statewide resource that now includes accelerators, investor education, integrated capital programs and the well known ConnectUP! Summit. Year after year, the organization has partnered with Minneapolis and Saint Paul founders to offer coaching, capital readiness training, community events and culturally responsive support. Today ConnectUP! continues to deepen its presence across the Twin Cities, working alongside organizations, funders and entrepreneurs who believe in a future where opportunity is shared, sustainable and community driven.
