Our Story
Black Garnet Books began in Saint Paul during the summer of 2020 when founder Dionne Sims responded to state violence and the absence of Black stories in many literary spaces. The store opened its physical doors to give Saint Paul readers a place where authors and illustrators of color are celebrated and supported and where thoughtful conversation can grow.
